The SCC Foundation saw a record-setting year at its annual Great Tastes fundraiser.
Attendees raised nearly $70,000. Final proceeds will go toward scholarships, instructional mini-grants, and other important SCC initiatives that help students.
“We are thankful to everyone who helped make this year’s event happen,” said Val Giannettino, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. “We had over 30
volunteers and many generous donors and sponsors who made Great Tastes exciting for everyone.”
Giannettino said planners moved from the traditional spring date to November and
were not sure how the change would be received.
“Over 300 people came out to support SCC,” Giannettino shared. “It was wonderful to see both familiar and new faces at the event with the goal of helping our students.”
Student members of the President’s Leadership Academy were on hand to assist attendees and help the event run smoothly.
The record-breaking crowd enjoyed a silent auction, live auction, delicious food throughout the night, and tastings offered by wine, beer, and spirits vendors.
The Foundation office is already planning next year’s Great Tastes.
“We’ve really set the bar high,” Giannettino said. “We’re working hard to create elements that keep it exciting and have challenged ourselves to have another record-breaking event.”
