What a year it has been.
And even with all that’s happened and the toll it has taken on each of us, I find myself inspired.

In this world when so much seems to have gone wrong, I am uplifted by the incredible determination, problem-solving, and community support that I’ve seen over the past nine months.
In the face of adversity, it is easy to point out others’ shortcomings in judgment or perspective. However, look a bit closer and you’ll see the amazing resiliency and
resourcefulness of our communities. People everywhere are finding solutions to the challenges none of us ever thought we’d face.
I see that resilience and resourcefulness every day in the students, faculty, and staff here at SCC, too.
In fact, our college has been at the forefront of leading our region through times like these for 100 years.
In this edition of the Vision, we honor two of our finest and celebrate their contributions to their profession and their community, we see how SCC has provided much needed tools to generations of residents as they search for a better life, how our health programs are delivering invaluable instruction at a time when that knowledge is needed most, and we thank the hundreds of friends who believe in us enough to fund our important work.
As 2020 comes to a close, I am truly inspired for what 2021 will bring.
It is my sincere hope that you remember to look for the light in the darkness. It will make all the difference.
