New & Neat

This fall, SCC launched an all new Honors Program. Designed for high achievers, students in the program take special courses, participate in service projects, take advantage of leadership development opportunities, and interact with area community leaders.
In honor of their ongoing generosity and service to SCC, the art gallery on the West Burlington campus was officially named the John Schuldt and Mary Moore Art Gallery. To celebrate, Dr. Ash hosted a show featuring works donated to the college from their private collection.
The welding lab on the West Burlington campus is now an approved Accredited Testing Facility through the American Welding Society. This designation allows SCC faculty to qualify and certify welders. In addition to better preparing students as an accredited facility, employees at local companies can become certified and earn credentials at SCC.

Made in the shade, eventually

Sixty students, staff, and volunteers gathered on a chilly Saturday in Otober to plant over 40 trees across the West Burlington campus. The trees were purchased through a grant from the Branching Out program sponsored by Alliant Energy and Trees Forever.
