Graduation season is one of my favorite times of the year. It is the culmination of so much hard work: successes, failures, frustrations, a-ha moments. At SCC, everything we do is about the students. Our sole purpose is to help the next person who comes through our door become the best they can be. And as a community college, our door is open for anyone to go through, regardless of who you are, who you were, or who you want to be. SCC is here to provide opportunities for you to make the most of your education.
In this edition we focus on how SCC is delivering on our promise to provide opportunities. We see how two students have taken advantage of those opportunities to realize their potential and secure a promising future, and how alumni benefit from opportunities provided to them years ago. We honor alumni as champions of education. We thank one of our own who spent her professional life building relationships that enable SCC to provide even more opportunities to thousands of students every year. I am always proud to see our graduates who, not that long ago, came to SCC unsure of what their future would hold. Then while here, they discovered their abilities and took advantage of opportunities available to them to build the skills and confidence to go forth and make their own path.
